At the age of 19, Guillaume Musso left for the United States, where he spent several months, discovering and falling in love with New York. To pay for his trip, he took a job as ice cream vendor, and he lived with workers of varied nationalities. He admits to having learned a lot during that time. In any case, he returned to France with his head filled with ideas for novels.
After getting a degree in economic science, he passed the Capes in the subject, and got passionately involved in his work as a teacher. He currently teaches in an international school.
In 2004, Guillaume Musso entrusted XO with his novel Et Après... . Bernard Fixot was very enthusiastic about the unique atmosphere created by this young author through his modern writing. Et Après... sold close to 1 million copies, and was translated into 20 languages. This incredible first encounter with his readers was closely followed by the huge success of Sauve-moi, Seras-tu là ?, Parce que je t’aime and Je reviens te chercher, and firmly established him as one of the public’s favourite French writers, translated the world over, adapted to the big screen.
Et Après…, adapted by Fidelité Productions, starring Romain Duris, John Malkovich and Evangeline Lilly, is coming to French cinemas in january 2009. Rights for Seras-tu là ? and Parce que je t’aime have also been purchased.
